Delhi T3 Premium Lounges: Encalm, Plaza Premium & Airline Lounges — What Business Travellers Actually Get

2026-06-09 8 min readBy Elite World Services Team

Delhi's Terminal 3 has one of the most comprehensive lounge ecosystems of any airport in Asia. For business travellers, understanding what's available — and how to access it — makes a meaningful difference to the airport experience, particularly on long international connections or early-morning domestic departures.

This guide covers every premium lounge option at T3, honestly, including what they do well and where they fall short.

Encalm Hospitality Lounges (T3 Departures)

Encalm operates the largest network of premium lounge facilities at Delhi T3, covering both domestic and international departures. Their flagship product is the Encalm Privé Lounge — an invitation-only facility for ultra-premium guests — but the standard Encalm lounge is accessible to any traveller through advance booking or on-the-day access.

What's included: - Hot and cold buffet (Indian and continental — quality is above average for an airport lounge; the dal makhani and grilled items are consistently good) - Open bar (beer, wine, spirits — no cocktail menu, but generous pours) - Private shower suites (separate booking, ₹500 supplement; worth it on a long-haul connection) - Business centre with printing - Wi-Fi (fast — reliably 50+ Mbps) - Quiet zone seating separated from the main lounge

Access: - Standalone booking via airport concierge service (included in our Elite and Concierge VIP packages) - Per-visit fee: approximately ₹2,500 for a 3-hour stay - Not accessible with standard Priority Pass — Encalm operates independently

Best for: International departures with a 3–4 hour buffer, domestic executive travel, pre-meeting preparation with shower access.

Honest note: The lounge gets crowded during the 2–4 AM international departure wave. If your flight departs in this window, access the lounge earlier (9–11 PM) and request a wake call.

Plaza Premium Lounge (T3 International Departures — post-security)

Plaza Premium is Hong Kong-based and operates to consistent international standards across their locations. The T3 branch is reliable, clean, and predictable in a way that business travellers appreciate.

What's included: - Hot buffet (narrower menu than Encalm, better quality control on individual dishes) - Full bar - Recliner chairs in a dedicated relaxation zone (genuinely useful for red-eye connections) - Prayer room (separate — relevant for Gulf-connection passengers) - Business workstations

Access: - Priority Pass, Lounge Key, Dragon Pass (widely accepted — most business credit cards with international travel benefits include access) - Standalone fee: approximately ₹3,000 for a 3-hour stay

Best for: Travellers with Priority Pass already active, Gulf connections with a few hours' layover, travellers who prioritise sleep over food quality.

Honest note: The recliner zone is the standout feature. If you are in transit and need 2 hours of horizontal rest, this is your best option at T3.

Airline Lounges (T3 International — for qualifying passengers)

For passengers travelling in business or first class, or holding top-tier frequent flyer status, the airline lounges at T3 are generally the best option.

Air India Maharaja Lounge — the largest and best-resourced airline lounge at T3. Full Indian buffet, well-stocked bar, private suites in the business section. Accessible to Air India business class and Star Alliance Gold members. Consistent quality.

Vistara Business Lounge — clean, modern, reliable. Better coffee than anywhere else at T3 (they use a proper espresso machine). Smaller than Air India but less crowded.

International airline lounges (Emirates, Etihad, British Airways, Singapore Airlines) — all located post-security at T3, accessible only to that airline's premium passengers. Emirates and Etihad lounges at T3 are particularly good; both have excellent food and genuinely private seating.

Air India VVIP/CIP Lounge (T3 — by prior arrangement)

For senior delegations and state or diplomatic visits, Air India operates a separate CIP (Commercially Important Passenger) facility with individual rooms, private security, and direct-to-aircraft transfer by vehicle. Access is by prior arrangement only — contact us if this is relevant to your visit.

Domestic terminal lounges (T3 domestic gates)

T3 domestic departures have a separate lounge area — the IndiGo Business Lounge (accessible to IndiGo Business class passengers) and the Air India Lounge (accessible to domestic business class and Star Alliance Gold). Both are functional rather than impressive.

For premium domestic travellers who are not flying business class, our standard service includes Encalm lounge access as an add-on, which is significantly better than the domestic airline lounges.
